Dear colleagues, Dear Ultrasound Enthusiasts,

We are looking forward to meeting you at the 9th Eurasian Emergency Medicine, TATKON "100th Anniversary" National Congress and the 2nd Ultrasonography Symposium Emergency and Critical Care Patient. As the EMATUS team that keeps raising the bar, we are once again here with our exciting ultrasound competition "Sonogames Turkey 2023" that will take your breath away and increase the excitement of both participants and spectators.

The preparations for our competition, which consists of informative and educational surprise stages, have been completed and we are now waiting for your applications as participants. If you would like to participate in "Sonogames Turkey 2023" as a competitor, please read the competition rules and application instructions and join us for this fun time. Let's meet at EACEM23, have fun, compete and show our skills. Maybe this year the winners will be among you and our surprise gifts will be yours.

Sonogames Turkey 2023 Conditions of Participation:

  • The competition will take place on Friday 10 November from 15:30 to 18:30 in Hall 3.
  • Applications will be accepted by email between 16 October 2023 and 9 November 2023.
  • Applications via social media will not be accepted.
  • The following information should be sent to tatdus@tatd.org.tr by 12:00 on 9 November 2023:
    1. Alias/team name:
    2. Competitor's first name, last name:
    3. Second competitor's name, surname:
    4. Name of clinic:
    5. At least one ultrasound related photo of the competitor
    6. Competitors' social media (Instagram, Twitter) usernames, if available, and your clinic's official social media account, if available.
    7. Permission to share the team's application content on social media: The application email must state "We agree to our application being announced and shared by EMAT and Congress social media accounts". Teams that grant permission will have their application featured on social media.
  • Once eligibility has been confirmed for each application, it will be announced on the official EMATUS and EMAT Congress social media accounts.
  • The full list of participants, including all competitors, will be announced on 9 November 2023 at 14:00 at the EMATUS stand in the Congress foyer.

Competitor Requirements:

  • Each competitor can participate in only one team.
  • Competitors must be residents.
  • EMATUS members and trainers cannot be competitors.
  • Competitors must have completed their registration for the 9th Eurasian Emergency Medicine, TATKON "100th Anniversary" National Congress and the 2nd Ultrasonography Symposium Emergency and Critical Care Patient before applying for the competition.
  • Competitors must have checked into the congress hotel by 10 November 2023 at the latest.

Team Requirements

  • Each team will consist of 2 competitors.
  • Each clinic can participate in the competition with a maximum of one team.
  • If a clinic cannot form a team for the competition, two individuals from different clinics can come together to form a team.
  • Each team must choose an alias/team name for themselves.
  • Teams that do not choose an alias will be referred to by the name of the clinic from which they applied.
  • Teams can use concept clothing, accessories, or makeup for the competition. As this will be a dynamic competition, it is recommended to choose clothing that allows running or fast walking.

Admission to the competition and start of the competition

  • All teams wishing to participate and meeting the eligibility requirements will be admitted to the competition.
  • On Friday 10 November, from 14:30 to 15:30, all teams participating in the competition will be admitted to the meeting room and details of the competition will be explained. Teams that do not attend the meeting will be disqualified from the competition.
  • At the end of the competition, a "Sonogames Turkey 2023" medal and an "Emergency Ultrasonography" book will be awarded to all participants who complete the stages.
  • The stages of the competition are designed as elimination rounds. The number of stages and the elimination methods will be explained to the participants in a pre-competition meeting.
  • Competitors and spectators will have fun and learn at the same time. Competitors will perform procedures, make diagnoses and make decisions at each stage under the guidance of EMATUS staff.
  • All teams will move from stage to stage with at least one EMATUS staff member accompanying them throughout the competition.

Announcement of competition results and prizes:

  • Using a pre-determined scoring system for each stage, competitors' performance within each stage will be evaluated by a separate team. Rankings will be determined at the end of each stage based on total points and time, and the top three teams will be identified.
  • The announcement of the winning teams will take place at the Gala Night on Saturday 11 November 2023.
  • Prizes for the winning teams (per competitor)
    1. First place prize: Registration/accommodation for ATAS in 2024, free registration for a EMAT course of their choice in 2024.
    2. Second place prize: Registration for ATAS in 2024, free registration for a EMAT course of choice in 2024
    3. Third place prize: Free registration to a EMAT course of their choice in 2024
